Danny Janklow (sax) and Tamir Hendelman (piano) at the PQ Sessions: A Sherman Oaks House concert
PQ Sessions present an exciting evening with saxophonist Danny Janklow and
pianist Tamir Hendelman as part of the Jazz Plus series.
7pm set (6:30pm doors) followed by refreshments at 8:30pm.
Saxophonist and composer Danny Janklow has taken the LA jazz scene by
storm, winning 1st place at the Detroit Jazz Festival Saxophone competition
and sharing the stage and recordng with the likes of Herbie Hancock,
Wayne Shorter, Wynton and aBrandford Marsalis, John Beasley, the Vanguard
Jazz Orchestra and Jimmy Heath.
Pianist and composer Tamir Hendelman recently collaborated
with horn players on special programs including a Dizzy Gillespie Tribute with
trumpeter Freddie Hendrix and a Max Roach tribute with alto saxophonist Jeff Clayton.
He enjoys exploring the duo format, and the way that each collaboration brings out
the best of each musical partner.
Danny and Tamir will bring in new original music, present fresh takes on modern jazz classics
and see what the moment brings- there's always bound to be a few musical surprises
along the way..

The PQ Sessions' Jazz Plus series celebrates the tradition of Jazz music and hopes to introduce audiences to new avenues and artists in the spirit of Jazz, the sound of surprise.
