Poetry of Wit and Wonder!
The Howard County Poetry & Literature Society (HoCoPoLitSo) and Howard Community College present the 11th annual Blackbird Poetry Festival featuring Mississippi Poet Laureate Beth Ann Fennelly who will read from and discuss her work.
Described as sleek, delightful by Kirkus Review, Fennelly has written six books- three poetry and three prose collections. The 52 micro-memoirs in Heating and Cooling combine the economy of poetry and the richness of nonfiction. Fennelly's poems invite you into the delicate balance between the challenging, sometimes squalid, human condition and the beauty and sadness of the transcendent, noted The Rumpus.
