Ailuran: The Bardo to Tewaz
As featured in the August 5th edition of the Seattle Times, the Cabiri, along with Montreal-based guest Artistic Director Marshall Garfield, proudly present their newest work "Ailuran: The Bardo to Tewaz", on August 8 - 10 at the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.
Garfield brings decades of experience to The Cabiri as former Performance Designer, Project Manager and Acrobatic Coach for Cirque De Soleil at their headquarters in Canada and in Las Vegas for a variety of Cirque shows including O, Zumanity and Ka.
In Ailuran, shamanism, angelic beings and tribal hunter culture are explored via Cabiri's unique, enchanting combination of aerial acrobatics, contemporary dance and theater suitable for audience members of all ages.
Ailuran is the prelude to the Cabiri's highly anticipated T.E.A. Trilogy, the first installment of which (Tewaz) will debut in Spring 2014. For additional information, visit www.cabiri.org.
Discounted tickets for groups or 20 or more are available. Email info@cabiri.org for more information on group discounts.
"Ailuran is a new adventure in performative mythology. The Cabiri dive directly into the divine imagery of the temple paintings at Çatalhöyük [Catal Huyuk] to take the audience to the very beginnings of the human race's imaginable world.
Catal Hayuk in my view is a unique moment in human myth, it is this moment when the human race stilled for a moment and looked to the sky, and there they found a whole new family of gods. Gods that have since filled the imaginal world of our species, guiding us for ten thousand years.
Join the Cabiri on their most stunning adventure yet, the first installment of a three year vision that looks at 10,000 years of angelic lore." --Cabiri Artistic Director John S. Murphy
