Nadia Murad, who survived the Yazidi genocide in Iraq and sexual enslavement by ISIL, is in the process of making history. She recently received the Nobel Peace Prize for her work advocating for those who have been systemically raped by armed forces. On Her Shoulders follows Murad through numerous media engagements and political scenarios, alternating between boots-on-the-ground vérité and direct-to-camera interviews about Murads fight for justice and her campaign to raise awareness about what has been happening to her community.
