BOOST: Poetry to Uplift Your Spirits

Our dear friend and beloved author, Tara Hardy, needs our help. In January 2012, we came to you after Tara had been in the hospital with a life-threatening, undiagnosed health condition. Since that time, Tara has been admitted to the hospital three more times and spent the better part of the year fighting to stay alive, not the least of which was undergoing chemotherapy. Our first fundraiser was to help Tara seek a diagnosis (she now has two of them, see below). This year, we are coming together to help alleviate some of the financial burden Tara faces. She is currently undergoing a rigorous two-year treatment, the cost of which not covered by health insurance is $18,000 per year.

On May 31st at Richard Hugo House, Tara's friends and colleagues will host a benefit to raise funds. BOOST: Poetry to Uplift Your Spirits will feature a line-up of Tara's nearest and dearest, reading feel-good poems for this great cause.
