This night will be worlds colliding: a hybrid band, comprised of Dayton's bar-band heroes Shrug (Tod Weidner, with Bryan Lakatos on upright bass, and Dan Stahl on drums) will trade tunes with Mulvey, all accompanied by SistaStrings.
A live-wire on any stage, Peter MULVEY is an acoustic singer/songwriter/guitarist who, in fact, defies this categorization. SISTA STRINGS are Milwaukee-based sisters who are using their gifts of music to creating social change. As classically-trained instrumentalists, Monique (cello) and Chauntee (violin) Ross are a dynamic, collaborative pair riffing on elements of classic and gospel music to create a unique sound rooted in passion. Their sound is soulful and fresh, a truly unique blend of their eclectic musical background. Their training in classical music paired with a deep love in gospel music has allowed them to cultivate their improvisation skills and use their instruments as their voice. But they sing too.
