Foggy Mountain Consort
The Foggy Mountain Consort is Bostons premier R&B band  that is, Renaissance & Bluegrass. This five-member ensemble fuses the delicate beauty of Renaissance music with the inventiveness and energy of fiddle and banjo-driven roots music, with the honest beauty of traditional folk songs.

Art Schatz, fiddle
Art has been a mainstay bluegrass, country, and swing fiddler in the Boston acoustic music scene for more than 30 years. Classically trained, Art played in community orchestras and chamber groups before crossing over to the dark side. He also plays with the western swing band, The Beantown Buckaroos and previously in the Reunion Band.

Peter Lehman, theorbo, mandolin, lead vocals
Peter is a master of historic plucked strings: the Renaissance lute, the theorbo, and the nineteenth-century guitar. He holds a few performance degrees and has performed in Europe, New York, and around New England. Uncomfortable in his own time, Peter has been reborn as King of the Bluegrass Theorbo, or so they say.

Anne Goodwin, lead vocals, guitar
Anne has a rich background in folk and classical styles. She studied classical vocal technique in college then went on to sing in Renaissance, world music, and folk groups, touring in the US and abroad. Her other groups include the Antigravity String Band, Laduvane, and Taproot.

Douglas Freundlich, violone
Doug, an Early Music expert, holds down the bottom of the band on violone, the Renaissance bass. Doug also plays lute and jazz bass, and has performed with the BSO, Boston Baroque, Emmanuel Music, Renaissonics, and the Venere Lute Quartet.

Lauck Benson, banjo, English guitar, fretless banjo
Lauck, a bluegrass banjo master has played with countless bands across the country. He teaches banjo at Berkeley College of Music and delights in pushing his students to try anything, to expand the already rich repertoire of this wonderful instrument.

Carriage House Concerts brings the finest performers of Classical and traditional music to the beautifully restored 1793 Carriage House at Gore Place. Described as a lovely little music box of a room, the Carriage Room offers intimacy (capacity 75) and wonderful acoustics (most performances dont require amplification). Onsite parking is free and the facility is fully accessible.
