Annual Saturnalia Dinner Join Seattle's Phantasmagorical Chef for a January feast that will make Saturn blush! Traditionally held in December, we've moved the Saturnalia Feast to January so you can enjoy the newer winter holidays with family and recover from your New Year revelry with friends, before diving into the extravaganza of our January Saturnalia.
In honor of the Agricultural Deity, everything you eat this night will be best-of-kind! Sourced from ethical butchers, local gardens, and small local farms and wineries, every kind of diet and restriction is accommodated. From celiac to halal, Chef Killian is pleased to provide you a meal to remember. "The poet Catullus called Saturnalia 'the best of days' I promise to make this dinner one of your best!" Note: the ancient Romans had limited flatware: you will have a spoon and a knife; ample use of your fingers is encouraged.
The Evening's Events 5:00 PM - The celebration begins with appetizers and mingling 5:30 PM - Be in your seats for the first course, accompanied by music. 6:00 PM - Throughout the evening, you will be plied with twelve plated courses and we've been known to sneak in a few extra gifts of tasty bites. Guided by our master of ceremonies, carefully selected wine and mixed drinks (alcoholic and non) will be served throughout the night. Evening's end: Dinner is expected to end between ten and midnight.
What are Sigillaria? Sigillaria are the traditional Saturnalia gift. Traditionally these items are small wax or pottery figurines and you give them to your host and servers during the feasts of Saturn. You are encouraged bring a wax or earthenware gift for your chefs and servers.
