++YURT MUSIC++ Presents; SPIRIT FAMILY REUNION and THE OLD WAY

++YURT MUSIC++ Coastal Concert Series is an ephemeral listening room that comes into being every so often, when musicians and music-goers come together in our coastal yurt to celebrate good music, good people, and the wild beauty of the Northern California coast.

This summer we will be welcoming talented musicians from all over the country to come play in this intimate setting, and we invite the adventurous and young at heart to seek us out for these limited engagements.

Staring 2013 ALL SHOWS WILL BE TICKED. and pre registration is necessary. This allows us to keep the numbers manageable (preserving the experience), and to collaborate with more amazing musicians. The ticket prices will always stay affordable, and the concerts are bound to be magical.

++YURT MUSIC++ is pleased to kick off our summer series with an excellent pairing of american roots music.

Hailing from Brooklyn NY, Spirit Family Reunion has been plying their brand of hard driving, harmony drenched Americana all over the country for years. Their tight song-craft and energetic (sometimes frenetic) live performances are garnering much adoration as of late. They have familiar yet captivating sound, that taps into the best of american traditions including oldtime, bluegrass, gospel, and rock and roll.

The Old Way is a husband wife duo, who make their home amongst the rolling, golden hills of California, a little ways north of San Francisco. They sing and play with a lush, potent, and emotionally overt songwriting style which embraces the melodic in the midst of ardent, explorative improvisations and tightly-knit vocal harmonies.... Their music draws heavily on sentiments of bygone eras, using plain language, and employing simple, emotive forms. Inhabiting the area between wail and lullaby, each of their songs move through a series of stark and nostalgic scenes reflective of their home surroundings.
