"Touch" & "Mirrors"
CHICAGO DANZTHEATRE ENSEMBLE PRESENT:
"Touch and Mirrors"

"It is everyday, a normal day, it is one day that a chance meeting can change, influence
and touch your life and send you on a different course."
- Ellyzabeth Adler, "Touch"

Chicago, IL - Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble is pleased to present two original performances inspired by the poetry and mysticism of Rumi at Defibrillator Performance Art Gallery. Join us Thursday through Saturday May 16-25, 2013 as we remount "Mirrors" and present the world premiere of "Touch", a lyrical look at the chance encounters that alter the course of our lives. "Mirrors" was first produced by writer, director, and choreographer, Ellyzabeth Adler working in collaboration with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble Artist Director Jack Ryan in the fall of 2011. "Mirrors" tells the story of four alienated characters whose longing for connection in a world that privileges individualism is brought into focus as they each encounter mirror images of themselves. After closing "Mirrors" to favorable reviews, Adler again turned to the poetry of Rumi, to develop "Touch". Premiering for the first time anywhere, "Touch", tells the story of a young woman and an elderly man, whose chance meeting at a cemetery brings their lives closer than they ever could have imagined.

"Touch" and "Mirrors" are both written, choreographed, and directed by Ellyzabeth Adler and feature: McKenna Liesman, Johnson Vaughn Brock, Hannah Michelle Gauthier, Jack Ryan, Steven Fedoruk, Melissa Talleda, Maren Rosenberg, Ellyzabeth Adler, Lisa Leszczewicz, Josh Peterson, Steven Kellert, Wannapa P. Eubanks, Christopher Young and Paul Karner

"Touch" and "Mirrors" will be presented at Defibrilator Performance Art Gallery, Thursday - Saturday, May 16 - 25 at 8pm. Tickets $15 in advance / $20 at the door. There is a special preview of the work on May 16 at 8 pm and a talk back on May 23 moderated by writer and performer John Rich.
