Pip the Pansy with Night Colors!!
Wow! 2018 has been such a great year at the Nance Life Lounge, and we'd like to continue that on November 3rd when we host Pip the Pansy with special guest Night Colors! Tickets are $30, and that includes drinks, snacks, and two bands! Night Colors will be playing a 45 minute opening set to start things off, and then we'll get to see Pip the Pansy play a 75 minute set!
"Pip the Pansy (formerly known as Wrenn) is the freshest Rainbow Pop artist to come out of Atlanta, Georgia. Unapologetically authentic and armed with a voice that can be sultry, lilting, playful, or bold, Pansy has marched onto the scene with her own quirky confidence...In true renaissance form, she is the creative mind behind everything she does. Her immaculate sense for aesthetic is apparent from her self-produced artwork and videos to the bubblegum-chic outfits she wears on stage. An accomplished photographer, artist, model, and classically trained flutist, Pansy first stepped onto the stage in 2014 and devoted the following year crafting a sound and look that took her from unknown to headlining act at the historic Georgia Theater."
Working with artist and producer David Butler of the band MISSIO, Pip the Pansy released her EP "Royal Blue Daydream" in November 2017, which "acts as an explosion of personality and positivity, quickly pinning Pansy as a fun and well-versed persona in a pop world sometimes lacking diversity (Atwood Magazine). The EP includes songs like All My Friends Are Animals which has been described as an anthem for introverts and title track Royal Blue Daydream, a charming commentary on screen addictions."
"Night Colors is the indie pop creation of siblings Elijah and Hannah Cruise based in Knoxville, Tennessee. With layered synthesizers, Night Colors works endlessly to create an immersive and emotional sound. Hannah Cruise's fiercely articulated vocals and Elijah Cruise's kind harmonies seamlessly blend with hints of '80s synth-pop, ultimately creating their own unique and breathtaking new sound."
The band uses layered harmonies over minimalistic soundscapes to create an immersive and chilling listening experience. Night Colors was named as a top band to watch by Blank Newspaper. Their debut single Shadow was released in February of 2017, which is a tasteful mixture of folk harmonies and 80s synth pop highlighting the struggles of feeling powerless in bad relationships. They've since released a new five song EP titled "How the Night Began" last month! Come join us!
