WorldQuest, a global trivia competition for students, becomes more fun & fierce each year as foreign policy buffs, United Nations enthusiasts, young international entrepreneurs, global change agents, and the universally curious mix, mingle, laugh, and compete for WorldQuest domination. WHY COMPETE IN WORLDQUEST:
- Engage in a friendly global trivia competition; - Meet some of Utah's brightest students; - Enjoy dinner & drinks; - Support the Young Diplomats of Utah program
DATE: Friday, February 22, 2019 TIME: 5:30 pm - Doors open & dinner served 6:00 pm - Program and WorldQuest competition starts LOCATION: Westminster On The Draw 2120 South 1300 East, SLC COST: $25 per student / $200 per student team (eight students per team) $50 per sponsor / $400 per sponsor team (eight sponsors per team)
Now let's get into the weeds!
Teams of eight students compete by answering ten questions in six global categories. Our talented emcees read each question and four multiple choice options which are also projected by PowerPoint screens. After each set of category questions, your answer sheets are collected by the scorekeepers, and then the emcees review the questions with the correct answers so you know how your team is doing in real time.
The questions test a student's knowledge of current affairs, world leaders, geography, recent history, flags, international organization, countries, regions, the world economy, culture, religion, and more.
The three teams with the most correct answers win fantastic prizes! Additionally, the top scoring high school team (grades 9-12) could win a chance to qualify for the National Academic WorldQuest competition in Washington D.C. held in April 2019. The team with the best costume and the team with the best name will also win prizes, so there are many reasons to compete!
Participation in WorldQuest can also be used to fulfill requirements for the Young Diplomats of Utah, an advanced global leadership program for ambitious and motivated youth ages 14 - 20.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? Get your class, club, friends, or family together to form a team of 8 students, dress up in your favorite themed costume, and join the competition on Friday, February 22, 2019. A student is defined as any individuals studying at a high school grade 9-12 or college or university in any capacity.
Can't find eight people to play? Register anyway, and we will match you up with a team.
Once you have identified interested students, register here on Brown Paper Tickets or contact Deeanna Price | 801.832.3276 to secure your spot in the competition. Space is limited so act quick!
NOT A STUDENT, BUT YOU STILL WANT TO COMPLETE?
No problem!
Non-student teams are considered a sponsor teams. You can still form a team of eight-players and compete against all the other teams in answering the questions. The top scoring non-student team will win fabulous prizes in your own category, and while the registration fee is $50 per player or $400 per team, you can feel good about yourself as you have just provided a scholarship to a student or team and you are supporting our Young Diplomats of Utah program!
Put together your team and register here on Brown Paper Tickets or contact Deeanna Price | 801.832.3276 to secure your spot in the competition. Space is limited for sponsorship teams!
