Jumptown Big Band presents a Count Basie Tribute Party

Jumptown Big Band is proud to present a Count Basie Tribute Party. Last years Stan Kenton Tribute Party was such a success that we were asked to perform again. This year we will be performing instrumental arrangements from the library of the Count Basie Orchestra that will feature our outstanding soloists along with vocal charts featuring Claudia Knauer, one of Portlands top big band vocalists. The Count Basie Orchestra is arguably one of the greatest and most well-known big bands in swing music history. This event will feature a wide variety of Count Basie classics as well as some gems that dont often get performed by live big bands. We are calling this event a party rather than a concert or dance because it will be both. If you are a swing dance fan, this event will keep your feet moving. If you are a concertgoer, you will find this event an exciting evening of aural delight.

This event will be held in the beautifully renovated auditorium at the Multnomah Arts Center at 7688 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR 97219 in the heart of Multnomah Village on Saturday October 20th 7:30pm to 10:00pm. This venue has a large dance floor and plenty of seating for dancers and concertgoers alike. Light refreshments will be served.
