"'Night, Mother" by Marsha Norman
"'Night, Mother" is the Chaotic Good Collective's first production of it's inaugural season, which focuses on mental health and suicide. Marsha Norman's timeless classic opens on what seems like a normal night in a normal, American home, until Jessie, an epileptic woman with an estranged son and ex-husband, calmly confesses to her mother, Thelma, that she plans to commit suicide in a few hours. What follows is an evening of desperation as both women try to convince the other to see their point of view. This is a play about family, obligation, mental illness, love, and the things that make life worth living- or don't. Directed by Colin Carter, this intimate production brings the audience inside of a living, breathing home. It features the talents of Antoinette Fasino as Jessie and Donna Fraissinet as Thelma. "'Night, Mother" is presented by special arrangement with the Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
