Andrea Wild and The Bad Wolves
Welsh Folk Revival

Andrea Wild and The Bad Wolves are on a mission to revive and perform traditional Welsh folk music. In the forefront of the band is Andrea Wild. Having grown up with a Welsh speaking mother and grandparents, this music project is born of true passion and authenticity. The core Bad Wolves are uilleann piper and fiddler, Preston Howard, multi-instrumentalist, Zac Leger and guitarist and vocalist, Hugh Glanville. With strong vocal harmonies, bouzouki, guitar, fiddle, whistles, accordion and pipes this ensemble collectively generates unique and lively arrangements of Welsh folk music infused with dynamic elements from the Breton and Cornish and Scottish music traditions. In addition to their Welsh material, the band also has an extensive Irish repertoire including songs, jigs and raging reels. This energized pan-Celtic band will leave you wanting more.

Andrea Wild is a singer, producer and emcee from Liverpool, UK currently residing in Portland. Born in Liverpool, England, Andrea was raised with the sibling singing tradition emphasizing harmony and a capella performance. Andreas mother was from Pwllheli, Wales, and moved to Liverpool with Andreas grandparents (Nain and Taid). So, Andrea and her brother, Straford grew up in a Welsh speaking household with an Irish uncle and a father who insisted they support Leeds United. Quite a challenge to anyone growing up in the midst of Liverpool Football Club. After moving to the United States, Andrea continued to sing with her brother, Straford. They collaborated with Oregon Symphony cellist, Jim Smith in the band Both Wild and performed at folk festivals and music venues throughout the US. Both Wild released a CD recording Just Say Nevoth. Since moving to Portland, Andrea formed and currently manages The Stomptowners. She also produces Global Folk Club, a unique monthly live music event.

Zac Léger (guitars, bouzouki, whistles, button accordion, vocals) has been touring and playing music professionally for 20 years. He holds numerous medals on various instruments from both the U.S. and Ireland, including an All-Ireland medal on the Irish uilleann pipes, one of few Americans to hold this prestigious title. He has appeared on over a two dozen albums and has played, recorded and performed with The Border Collies, John Doyle, John Whelan, Mike Dugger, Glen Road, Liz Carroll, Molly's Revenge, Scottish fiddler Jamie Laval, Quinn and Qristina Bachand, Colleen Raney, citternist Joseph Sobol, The Duhks, Oisre (of which he was a founding member), accordionist Dave Munnelly, LA-based Irish-trad/Jazz fusion band The Brilliant Gypsies, and world-renowned finger-style guitarist Al Petteway. He also toured with acclaimed stage productions Women of Ireland, An Irish Christmas, Emerald Beat, Celtic Crossroads and Ireland: the Show. Zac currently resides in Portland, Oregon.

Hugh Glanville is an ex-pat of Welsh descent who grew up in the South of England where he was immersed in the UK folk scene as a youngster. He is foreman of Portlands Bridgetown Morrismen and leads community singing events including Portland Revels and Global Folk Club.

Preston Howard grew up in Northern California where he began learning the uilleann pipes during his teens with the help of many kind traveling pipers as well as the Pub Scouts, the local Irish music collective in Chico, CA. He also performs with The Stomptowners and Na Rosai.
