Detective Story by Sidney Kingsley
Detective Story is a fascinatingly realistic picture of routine cases brought into a bustling metropolitan police station during the course of an evening. A dedicated detective pursues several cases related to underworld criminals. One case in particular is a little too close to home for Detective James McLeod. He is a stern police detective who has no tolerance for crime. At home, however, he is a loving husband to his wife Mary. The police are ready to conclude the case of abortionist Kurt Schneider, who is responsible for the death of at least one patient, but McLeods hatred for the doctor prolongs the investigation. The detective soon uncovers a dark secret that threatens to destroy his sanity and ruin his life.
