Wall of Grass is an interactive folk collaborative that performs in the spirit of contributing to the greater good and raises much needed funds by targeting community service organizations in need. All shows are produced by Wall of Grass founder and percussionist Joe Donnelly.Original Wall of Grass-er Catharine David has lovingly categorized the bands genre as cluster-folk.

HISTORY
Wall of Grass was founded in Boston Massachusetts in the 1999 by drummer and percussionist Joe Donnelley who is most know for his work playing drums on records by the Del- Fuegos, Swinging Steaks, Martin Sexton, Mary Gauthier and Asa Brenner.
The unique concept of Wall of Grass was instantly celebrated in the music community. Donnelley put together a group of local music luminaries and tried his hand at event planning. Wall of Grass received a great deal of recognition in the press. The Herald, The Boston Globe, Improper, Sound Check and Stuff at Night all raved about the project. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefitted the Mark Sandman Music and Education Fund.
After a long break Donnelley is back producing the shows with great vision and enthusiasm. He has brought on event planner Randace Rauscher to assist him with Public Relations and logistics.

CONCEPT
The concept behind Wall of Grass is to make our performances a folk music flash-mob, as described by newest member Sarah Nova, where the band is the crowd and the crowd is the band. Unlike a regular stage set-up, the core musicians and singers set up in a circle in the middle of the room, seated around 1 microphone. Audience members will be invitedno, encouraged..to sing along, to clap and to participate in the performance.Songbooks will be provided for the audience upon admission. All we ask that people respect the music.

The more the merrier, the bigger the better.
