Leo Tolstoy's haunting short novella The Keutzer Sonata places Beethoven's celebrated work at the center of a scandalous love affair with a tragic ending. PhiloSonia's third installment pairs the sonata which served as Tolstoy's inspiration with Janáek's musical retelling of the work.
