Sorting Through Hoarding Training Presentation

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Hoarding behaviour including an understanding of some of the underlying issues. Participants will also learn communication skills that relate specifically to dealing with hoarding situations as well as some hands on practical strategies. There will be an opportunity to view client videos, engage in learning activities and to discuss specific cases if required.

Stacy Walker is a Certified Professional Organizer who has been organizing professionally since 2004. As one of the first Professional Organizers in the Edmonton area, Stacy brings with her a vast array of skills. She applies her training, experience, patience and a very practical approach to all her organizing work. Through the years that Stacy has been doing this work, she has continued to develop her professional skills and upgrade her training, specializing in working with people who struggle with hoarding behaviors. She is a contributing member to both the Professional Organizers in Canada and the Edmonton Hoarding Coalition.

Terri Bailey, M.A. Counselling has a private therapy practice with a specialty in the hoarding field. She educates professionals, co-facilitates hoarding groups through Canadian Mental Health Association-Edmonton, provides one on one counselling, and also works with family members who are concerned about a loved one who is hoarding. She is a member of the Edmonton Hoarding Coalition and is dedicated to facilitating a collaborative and compassionate community response.
