Don't Let the Moon Fool You
Shoobooty Studios presents Kevin Newhalls new release, Dont Let the Moon Fool You recorded by Kevin Newhall and the Affinities. The record is a song-cycle that can be appreciated as a kind of post-2016 election Tarot card reading, each song inspired by Newhalls interpretation of one of seven different cards from the deck. While Newhalls reading of these cards is a clear yet subtle response to our current cultural/political moment, the songs can also be appreciated more broadly as songs about hope, love and heart-break. For both the record and the release concert, Newhall is joined by Jan Janz on cello, Nick Abbamonte on the harp, and the Affinitiesa harmony trio consisting of River Roberts, Jen Usellis and Andrea Hansen.
