Chop Hop Dance Party

The historic Mar-Va Theater in downtown Pocomoke City has announced that it will host a "Chop Hop" Dance Party at the theater on Saturday evening, May 19. The event will begin at 7 PM and end at 10:30 PM. The fun-filled event will feature famous radio personality and local resident, Choppy Layton, playing dance and party music from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. There will also be live entertainment on the stage, a dance contest, hula-hoop contest, best-dressed contest, silent auction, and more. Light refreshments will be provided by XO Beanery & Bites, and beer, wine, and other refreshments will also be available.

Tickets for the Chop Hop Dance Party are $25/couple or $15/single. Tickets may be purchased in advance at XO Beanery & Bites or Lusby's Appliances in downtown Pocomoke City or at the door.

The Mar-Va Theater Performing Arts Center is currently celebrating its 90th year of operation at 103 Market Street in downtown Pocomoke City. It was originally built in 1927 as a venue for silent movies and vaudeville acts. For the past several years, it has been owned and operated by a local, non-profit group of volunteers who are dedicated to providing current movies, live entertainment, birthday parties, and other entertainment and cultural activities for area residents.
