ARTS ENCOUNTER, SHADOW RHAPSODY, ages 3 - 6
Ages 3 - 6
Monday to Thursday, from 10:00am - 12:00pm
Your young dancers will explore a different story ballet each week culminating in a Thursday family performance.
The children will use improvisation, basic movement concepts, folk dance, and classical ballet to recreate the story ballets. Your children will design and construct costumes, props, and scenery to enhance their production.
At snack time, well explore a different culture and era while we try foods from around the world.
When studying technique and choreography, a performance done in shadow is an exciting way to pay attention to line and form.
To Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, we will present original works in our Shadow Theatre.
And learn a little about stage lighting along the way.
