The Portable Folk Festival - A Benefit Concert for Caroline Paton

It's safe to say that no one has played The Sounding Board more often than the Portable Folk Festival. Founded in 1974 by the Sounding Boards original impressario,
Bill Domler, the band consists of Sounding Board stalwarts who have frequented the coffeehouse since its inception. Expect traditional and contemporary folk, a bit of
bluegrass,fiddle tunes, and who knows what else they will pull from their eclectic repertoire. It's always fun and a great way to conclude The Sounding Boards 45th season.

This event is a benefit for the Caring for Caroline GoFundMe campaign.

For more than a half century Caroline Paton, along with her late husband, Sandy, brought music and joy to thousands through performances, special gatherings and sales of traditional and contemporary folk recordings on Folk Legacy Records. The Patons were also instrumental in the creation of The Sounding Board, and performed at the very first Sounding Board concert in December 3, 1973.

Now Caroline, at age 85, is facing medical challenges and expenses. At this time, she is no longer able to live on her beloved Sharon Mountain hilltop home. She is healthy but has limited mobility. We can make her present circumstances much better and bring her well-deserved comfort with a generous donation. With our financial support she will be able to have a vastly improved quality of life. Sadly, songs will not be enough.

All proceeds from admissions, refreshments, and voluntary donations will be donated to the campaign.
