Newport Art Deco Weekend!

Experience the Newport mansions in the age of the 1920s to 1940s at the 3rd annual Newport Art Deco Weekend! This event takes place at Salve Regina University's Fairlawn Estate (aka Pell Center/Young Building). This beautiful estate was built in the 1850s and used as a private residence for most of its life until being converted for school and college use. With grand ballrooms and a vast lawn on Bellevue Ave, it is the perfect place to experience life in the art deco age. Period style outfits are suggested but not required.

The weekend will consist of many themed activities and classes. Workshops on Saturday range from history, fashion, to dance. This year we partner with studio "Swing Salon" who will be teaching swing-related dance classes. Also, during the middle of the day is the lawn party picnic which this year features the first ever Fairlawn Olympics; a series of wild and wacky vintage inspired games!

This year's band for the Black-Tie Ball is the superb "Rocco and the Stompers"! This is an incredible local band from Boston that is perfect for this event. Performances and cash bar included with the evening's show.
