You're His Child is a heartfelt meditation on religion, family, and song. Through live music, sound, and her performative interaction with archival recordings, actor Emmy Bean engages the history of her great-grandfathera kitchen-table hymn singer from rural Missouritelling stories about family and music through his voice and her own.

Opening for Emmy Bean's You're His Child, Vanessa Valliere performs The Life and Times of Terry, a multimedia journey through romance, parenthood, and success. Valliere tells the tale of one womans search for love, and the hilarity that ensues, through clowning, puppetry, audience participation, drawings, photos, and projections.

Emmy Bean is a singer, performer, and teaching artist living in Chicago. She writes songs and performs in 80 Foots, Chicagos only End Times Vocal Trio. Emmy is also a singer and songwriter with Opera-Matic in the parks on Chicagos northwest side, and with John Szymanski in the Monthly Music Club. Recent performance work includes A Memory Palace of Fear with Theater Oobleck, Erica Motts Trials and Trails at Steelworkers Park, Baudelaire in a Box with Theatre Oobleck, and The Carter Family Family Show with the Neo-Futurists. She holds an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College Chicago.

Vanessa S. Valliere is a performer who uses elements of clown work and puppetry to create original shows. She has toured nationally as a solo performer and was also part of a clown ensemble for Tour De Fat from 2011-2016. Vanessa has performed at the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival (2015 & 2017), and her full-length solo shows have been presented by Pivot Arts in Chicago and DragonCon in Atlanta. She plays Ada in Ada/Ava with Manual Cinema, an internationally touring cinematic shadow puppetry company, and is one of the ensemble members of their production of The End of TV, a new work that was awarded a National Theater Project & Creation Touring Grant. Vanessa is a co-devisor and touring performer with Theater Unspeakables The American Revolution and is a proud nerd-cheerleader for Mucca Pazza, a thirty-piece circus punk marching band. She was the recipient of a 3Arts Make a Wave grant in 2017.
