David Driver :STANDARDS & CLASSICS & STARSKY (NO HUTCH)

Downtown NYC chanteur David Driver is joined by Dana Lyn (http://danalynmusic.com) and Matt Kanelos (http://mattkanelos.com) for a show that uses his childhood obsession with Detective David Starsky (from the hugely popular television series Starsky & Hutch) as a jumping-off point to look at how infatuation and memory shape us and our identities,both personal and musical. Loosely structured around the four seasons for which the show ran in the 1970s, this evening includes standards (by Rodgers & Hart and Peggy Lee, among others), classics (by Brian Wilson and Duran Duran, among others), and originals.

David Driver has worked with luminaries like Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, Debbie Harry, Heidi Rodewald, Stew, Richard Butler, and Roy Nathanson & The Jazz Passengers. He was in the original Broadway cast of the musical RENT, as well as the cult Off-Broadway rock opera PEOPLE ARE WRONG!, and has released a number of records with various musical projects. His work has been featured on The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and The Late Show with David Letterman, and he has been the voice of commercial brands including DunkinDonuts, Bridgestone Tires, and USA Network.

David Driver has coined an oblique Downtown twist on saloon singing, devoid of melodrama, like Jerry Vale dreaming of Chet Baker. Hes a persuasive performer.

Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS AT 6:00PM.

THE HOUSE OPENS ONE HOUR BEFORE THE SHOW. SEATING IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.

Late arrivals will be seated at management's discretion.
