Applied Malting and Sensory Analysis Seminar with TUM Weihenstephaner Research Brewmaster and Epiphany Craft Malt
Have you ever wondered how much does your Malt Analysis influence your final pour? Or how does similar Malts differ in sensory and taste profiles?
If you would like answers to these questions and more we invite you to come to Epiphany Craft Malt on April 26th to our Seminar on Applied Malting and Sensory Analysis.This seminar will provide you with closer look into how raw ingredients determine the malting process and how the malting process determines the final malt specifications and flavor profile. In a second part, we will utilize new software techniques for evaluating the sensory and taste profiles of commercial and craft malts alike.
This seminar will be directed by Dr Udo Kattein, he has served as the head brewmaster at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan Department of Brewing Technology Research Brewery before retiring in 2010. Udo has been instrumental in the development of state-of-the-art techniques and approaches to malting, and has been a prolific resource as the mentor for generations of maltsters and brewers over the last 40 years. Udo is making the trip all the way from Germany, so don't miss this opportunity!
