B-Side Social w/ Bethany Merritt

The hip, new series, B-Side Social returns for 2018! We pushing back the tables in the Jazz Cave for fun, informal gatherings featuring up-and-coming artists in Nashville's continually growing jazz scene. With a lower ticket price -- $12 advance, $15 at the door -- and open seating, it makes for a great night.

For 2018 B-Side has a new night (Thursdays) and a new time: doors at 6:30, music at 7! Please join us Thursday, March 29 for vocalist Bethany Merritt.

Bethany Merritt's smooth song styling is richly nuanced, cheeky yet ethereal, pure but commanding. Bethany travels nationwide with her husband and singer/songwriter Bryce Merritt, performing his original pop music and her modern jazz arrangements.

After earning her Bachelors in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Belmont University, Bethany began working on Mackinac Island, Michigan as the vocalist at the Grand Hotel. There, she fronted a band nightly, performing a wide variety of music while honing her speciality in jazz. In May of 2017, Bethany earned her Masters of Music in Jazz Performance as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Northern Colorado.

Bethany is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Music at Nashville State Community College, where she directs the program's first vocal jazz ensemble and teaches private voice lessons.

As with all events, NJW is always BYOB and BYOF.

The show is on Thursday,March 29, and doors open at 6:30pm for the 7:00 performance. Tickets are $12 advance and $15 at the door.
