San Francisco, I Love You!
San Francisco, I Love You! is the newest, original, full-length work by Footloose Presents at Shelton Theater near San Francisco's Union Square on Thursdays through JUNE 28.
NOTE early showtime at 7:30 pm. Theater bar opens 7:00 for Happy Hour and then we move into the Shelton Theater for the show packed with comedy, drama, music, dance and film. All ages welcome and young people love this show! Theater is accessible.

The vignettes range from romantic and idyllic to the gritty and not so pretty, and the moods change as quickly as our San Francisco weather. From booms to busts, San Francisco is a crossroads of counterculture cool and capitalist bravado. This fickle city always tries to be mythological. Locals get nostalgic for a San Francisco that they miss, a San Francisco that they never got to see or one that never existed at all.

'Round Midnight, a noir style play set on a foggy San Francisco night by Ron Campbell.
Mi Casa No Es Mi Casa, a film by Molly Stuart featuring Xedex about their eviction from the Mission.
La Llorona, a spoken word performance by Carolé Acuña (poem by Stephanie Sherman).
SF Real State, a farce about the housing and homeless crisis in San Francisco by Jeff Bedillion.
The Name Event (Cafe Trieste), stories set in North Beach by Bruce Yelaska.
You're Cooking Good, a slapstick comedy about a local celebrity chef and food show by Mary Alice Fry.
Lucha Libre, a dynamic duet dance with Xedex and Cesar A. Herrera in Luchador Mexican wrestling gear.
If I Fall, ensemble finale song by Cesar A. Herrera and Joshua Berg with the full cast.

Here's what audiences are saying:

"Don't miss this lively, fun and touching Footloose presentation featuring experiences of living in (and attempting to stay in) our beloved San Francisco. The evening is abundant with rich writing, clever choreography, soulful songs, poignant video, all delivered by a multi-talented ensemble of actors, dancers, and singers.  Throughout the production, humor was the vehicle driving us into non-tourist adventures."

"The vignettes about The City are sometimes sweet, sometimes sad. The play begins in the bar with some singing and dancing. It continues in the theatre space with a clever nod to Dashiell Hammett, then moves to 21st century SF. I found the sketches about gentrification heart-breaking, but effective."

****"One of the best show I have seen this year. I like that the players are out front and chat before the performance. The poetry was excellent."

"Wow! This was pretty astounding, serious talent, dancing singing, film, it made us laugh but it also leaves you shaken not stirred....Broke Ass Stuart wrote a piece on how this one of a kind city can fill your life and break your heart at the same time and then we went to see this play and somehow through some dance and improv stories and real life film clips of a Sarah Huckabee Sanders lookalike evicting a Native American longtime tenant you get it."

"Go get tickets because you don't get woke in a more moving way than this play, and still afterward all you can think is, my God who in the hell would go through this to live here? But you already know who....every single one of us."

"I loved that there were a variety of acts, including film! I especially liked the noir scene 'Round Midnight. Everything moved along fast and smoothly....Amazing talent; acting, singing, music, film making, producing and directing. Well done!!!"
