Lunch with a Leader: Jill Jean
Leadership Kitsaps Lunch With A Leader series is designed to benefit all Leadership Kitsap Alumni. Join our regional leaders for lunch and hear the stories of their leadership journeys. The conversations will be organic, thought-provoking, and alumni-lead. Lunches are quarterly. We will take the first 12 alumni to sign up. May's lunch will be lead by Jill Jean, Library Director, Kitsap Regional Library.
While there is NO CHARGE for this opportunity for our alumni, if you do not show and do not cancel within 12 hours of the event, you will be charged $15 for your lunch. We anticipate a waiting list and people would value the chance to attend that were not able to be one of the first 12.
Jill Jean has been the Library Director for the Kitsap Regional Library since 2006. Over the last eleven years, Jill has worked hard to reinvent libraries in Kitsap County. Today, our community libraries are centers for creativity, community, entrepreneurialism and innovationproviding way more service than Google could ever begin to offer. In 2016, a new Kingston Library opened further defining this paradigm, while a planned new Silverdale Library is being designed to set an even higher standard of library service in Kitsap County.
Prior to coming to Kitsap, Jill was the Director of Public Services for the Seattle Public Library, where she was responsible for budget, service delivery and personnel for Seattles 26 neighborhood libraries and the Central Library In addition, Jill was a member of the team that led the building of the new Central Library. During this project, Jills primary responsibilities included the development of the building program for a temporary library, the implementation of the new Central Library building program and staff involvement in both processes.
Throughout her long career in public libraries, Jill has served on a wide variety of community-based boards that focused on issues of literacy, youth involvement, childrens theatre and health. Currently, Jill is a member of the Bremerton Rotary and vice president of the board of the Olympic Peninsula Kidney Center.
