Amendola vs. Blades vs. Parker vs. Baptista // Pascal Le Boeufs Ritual Being feat. Friction String Quartet
While rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area scene, drummer Scott Amendola has become the nexus for a disparate community of musicians stretching from Los Angeles and Seattle to Chicago and New York. After many years as a sideman collaborating with the likes of John Zorn and Charlie Hunter Amendola took on a new role as bandleader in 1998 as an outlet to realize himself as a composer. Amendola vs. Blades vs. Parker vs. Baptista features Wil Blades on organ and clavinet, Jeff Parker on guitar and Cyro Baptista on percussion.
Described as "sleek, new" and "hyper-fluent" by the New York Times, Pascal Le Boeuf is a Grammy-nominated composer, pianist, and producer whose works range from modern improvised music to cross-breeding classical with production-based technology. He is widely recognized for his polyrhythmic approach to chamber music and hybridization of disparate idioms. This concert date will mark the West Coast premiere of Le Boeufs Chamber Music America commission Ritual Being and will feature San Franciscos Friction Quartet.
