The Dunes Summer Theatre is proud to bring this classic tale to life for young audiences, and parents. Considered a children's literature classic, the story centers around a little girl named Fern Arable's pet pig, Wilbur. Fern's father spares the life of the piglet from slaughtering, and allows Fern to nurture the piglet into adulthood. Eventually Wilbur is sold to Fern's uncle, Homer Zuckerman, where is left yearning for companionship. Sadly he is snubbed by the other barn animals, until a barn spider named Charlotte, befriends him. Upon Wilbur's discovery that he is intended for slaughter, Charlotte promises to hatch a plan guaranteed to spare his life and win him friends in the end.
