Catie Curtis at the Homegrown Coffeehouse
Catie Curtis has become something more than a songwriting star. Her career spans 14 albums, songs featured on TV shows Dawsons Creek, Chicago Hope, and Felicity; and movies like Finding Graceland and A Slipping Down Life. For over 20 years, shes been a perennially popular headliner, appearing at performing arts centers, concert halls, folk clubs, music festivals, Lilith Fair, Carnegie Hall, two Presidential Inaugural Balls, and several times at the White House. She was even dubbed a folk rock goddess by The New Yorker. The winner of more than her share of Boston Music Awards, she also took the Grand Prize in the 2006 International Songwriting Competition (out of 15,000 entries). She seeks the everyday details that let you see your own life in her songs: headlights crossing a bedroom wall; finding love in your dads heart; and the falling-in-love moment of The Kiss That Counted. CATIE CURTIS at the Homegrown Coffeehouse, Saturday, February 24, at 8:00 P.M.
Since 1983, the Homegrown Coffeehouse has been located at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, at the corner of Great Plain and Dedham Avenue in Needham center.
