https://crclrberlin.brownpapertickets.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Mushrooms have been growing wild since prehistoric times. Their therapeutic value has been acknowledged by indigenous cultures for thousands of years.
In the past few decades, mushrooms have become more popular for their therapeutic qualities in the west as a result of an expanding body of scientific research supporting their numerous health benefits.
Research is also showing us that mushrooms not only contribute to promoting healthier lifestyles, they can also support us in finding solutions to the challenges we face in the current environmental and economic climate.
In this interactive workshop we will explore some of these ideas, and look at ways that we can work with mushrooms to develop and implement practical solutions in our daily urban settings.
We will also explore various techniques for growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms using so called waste materials that you have access to you in your immediate environment.
This will be a hands-on experience and we will cover everything you need to know to get you started on your growing journey.
What will we cover?
- What are Mushrooms? - How do Mushrooms grow? - How do you grow Mushrooms on Grain, Coffee and Straw - Mushroom Aftercare - How to make and use Spore Prints, Spawn & Spore Syringes - Where to get everything?
