COMMUNITY DIALOGUE CIRCLE
CAN'T WE TALK?
An Experiment in Conversation, Contemplation, and our Search for Common Ground on the issues that separate us!
Our democracy thrives on talk and debate, but how often do we dislike, avoid and shun people who dont share our politics? We ignore at our peril that people we disagree with, often have something to offer, something to contribute, something to teach us. Isnt it time for us to learn and apply the skills necessary for healthy and respectful dialogue across party lines? How else will we be able to avoid the polarization that is so prevalent today in our families, communities, and in the public square?
Join friends, old and new, on Sunday, February 18th for the second workshop in our series on civil discourse. We are grounded in moral principles and drawing on our religious and spiritual traditions for wisdom and ethical values to improve the way we engage each other on topical issues. We are developing together a model for authentic dialogue that is so much in need now in our country. The series will culminate in a Town Hall Forum on August 4, 2018.
Consider your participation as an investment in our democracy during this Presidents Day weekend.
