Sleeping Beauty
May 4-6 & 11-13 at St. Lawrence Arts in Portland.
Dancers of all ages will bring Sleeping Beauty to life this spring in our 15th Vivid Motion Spring Show! Doing what we do best, VivMo takes a classic story and updates it through dance, making it fun for everyone.
Vivid Motion takes the tale out of medieval times (and out of the ballet idiom) and starts it in the Jazz Age. Born in 1940, Aurora comes of age in the 50s then falls under a curse to awaken in modern times. Using jazz, be-bop, & music from today with dance styles to match, this is a classic done VivMo style.
