Biscuit City

We're excited to welcome Biscuit City back to the Pump House. They were a huge hit back in October, and you won't want to miss them this time. We'll have a $10 cover at the door. As always, we'll have some complementary refreshments out for your enjoyment, and don't forget the LOW drink prices at the bar. Doors open at 7.

About the Band:
BISCUIT CITY is a New England-based band that specializes in a unique blend of roots-rock, classic country, honky-tonk and blues. With an emphasis on tight vocal harmonies, instrumental twang and infectious groove, they capture a spirit and sound that is the essence of authentic country.

BISCUIT CITY serves up a healthy portion of vintage and classic country the best of the honky-tonk tradition, with songs by George Jones, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash and Skeeter Davis. The band also mixes in modern songs from Americana and alt-country artists including Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash, Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, Wilco and the Jayhawksas well as contemporary country by artists from Dwight Yoakam to the Mavericks. Catchy original songs that reflect the bands influences and feature unique close harmony singing are also in the bands setlist. And if the dance floor isnt already jammed from their country repertoire, BISCUIT CITY will get the crowd moving with roots rock classics and Chicago and Texas-style blues.
The band name BISCUIT CITY comes from the county road in Kingston, Rhode Island where the band rehearses, named after an old farm where Johnnycake flour was milled in the 18th and 19th century. The band was formed in 2010 and a partial list of regional venues played includes the Met (recently opening for NRBQ), R.I. Governors Bay Day Celebration at India Point Park; Nick-a-Nees; the Parlour; The News Café; Bovis Tavern; the Bishop Hill Tavern; and Hanks Down South. Members of the band have also played in venues across New England including colleges, casinos, municipal concert series, as well as private party and corporate events.
