Getting What you Want; a Workshop on Negotiation for All Facets of your BDSM Life
You see the way they work their whip, and it makes you weak in the knees. You've seen their photographs and demonstrations, and you just have to experience what they have to offer. You've been seeing them for three months and now you think you're ready to take that big step and offer them your collar. You want them to control you, dominate every part of your life, you want to give up your very choices to the intensity of your relationship.
At the start of all of these scenarios is something that even the most experienced of us have to learn, and that is how to negotiate. Without good negotiation skills it becomes much harder to have good experiences exploring all of the facets of BDSM and Kink; whether you are looking for a good time with pickup play, or are hoping that this person will be your 'forever dom/me'. Unfortunately, many people have a tough time expressing their desires clearly, especially when they tend to be more submissive in nature. This workshop is geared towards everyone; Doms/Subs, tops and bottoms, switchy folk as well that want to express their desires better, negotiate better, and overall have a better experience getting what they want out of their lifestyle. We know it can be challenging for even the most confident of us to cover all details of our scene/relationship desires, but through this workshop, we hope to give you a good core that you can take forward into exploring your own negotiation style and skills.
This Workshop Will Cover:
* Limits Lists and Preparing for Play
* Confidence using your safeword, saying no, and when you can say yes!
* What should we cover when looking for pick-up play, demos for pick-up play using scenes from a hat.
* Understanding Relationships, discussion, and contracts for long-term dominant/submissive relationships.
* For Bottoms - What kind of Bottom am I? Can I play high?
* For Tops - Signs your bottom may not have the best time, when is it ok for me to safeword?
* How do I feel about topping/bottoming, beyond the mechanics? What do I want to feel in this scene/negotiation/relationship.
This class will include some examples of limit lists' master/slave contracts, and many opportunities to discuss terminology, concerns and all facets of negotiation in a safe environment. We seek to model consent across all spectrums, so feel free to participate at whatever comfort level you choose.
Whether you are coming as a single, partnered, or as a poly group, all levels of experience are encouraged to contribute to this workshop so everyone can get the best experience possible.
With over a decade of experience in the kink community as a switch, Geoffrey Quick has experience from both sides of the negotiation spectrum. He provides unique experiences and approaches to negotiation focused towards those who are more reluctant to share what they want so they can be sure that they have a good, positive experience when they play.
