In 1990s New York City, Danny Fortunato, former bartender, boxer and white collar felon, parlays his notoriety into ownership of a raucous, high-end night club in downtown Manhattan, called Danny Fortune.
With local residents protesting, and an investigation by NYPD detective Nelson Del Valle Danny must keep his friends close and his enemies closer, as his only salvation may arise out of his unlikely emerging friendship.
