7pm - Omar Sosa-Seckou Keita Trio

Omar Sosa and Seckou Keita are both acclaimed musical adventurers with a rich heritage that spans jazz, Latin and African influences. The idea for the collaboration grew out of Sosas impromptu addition to a 2012 London date with drummer Marque Gilmore, in what became Sosa and Keitas first musical encounter. Profoundly moved by the experience, Sosa told Keita he wanted to work together on a future recording project. The resulting album, Transparent Water, is the latest example of Sosas transcendent determination to seek new musical combinations through improvisatory freedom. On the album, the musical destination is second to the joy of the shared artistic expression with percussionist Gustavo Ovalles and Keita, who has recently won the Songlines Best Album Award 2016 for Africa and Middle East for his latest solo album, 22 Strings.
