World premiere: Teatro Regio, Turin, 1896.

La Bohème, the passionate, timeless, and indelible story of love among young artists in Paris, can stake its claim as the worlds most popular opera. Our production is family friendly and we welcome children 12 and under free.  This opera produced in this intimate setting has a marvelous ability to make a powerful first impression and to reveal unsuspected treasures after dozens of hearings. At first glance, La Bohème is the definitive depiction of the joys and sorrows of love and loss.  In this intimate setting of the beautiful Veterans Memorial Building located in down Town Santa Cruz a closer inspection of this opera, it reveals the deep emotional significance hidden in the trivial things like a hand muff or a bonnet, an old overcoat, a chance meeting with a neighbor.

Bay Shore Lyric Opera will present this opera with the Winchester Orchestra under the baton of Michael Di Giacinto.  The production will have English supertitles, Wine, light appetizer included in the ticket price.
