Miles Electric Band

This concert will now be held at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center (320-2 Cedar St., downtown Santa Cruz). All previously-purchased tickets will be honored and Gold Circle ticket holders will be assured premium seating.

The Miles Electric Band is an ensemble of world-class talents revisiting the repertoire from Miles Davis electric period as a framework for modern jazz innovation.In 2011 Vince Walburn, Jr., an acclaimed drummer and Davis nephew received an inquiry from the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic regarding putting together a performance at the Miles Davis Festival. Walburn jumped at the opportunity and hatched the idea of reassembling the band that had performed Bitches Brew Remix the year prior - and the Miles Electric Band was born. The Miles Electric Band is now a featured part of the Davis familys plan to bring the icons music to a new generation of music lovers and features Walburn on drums, Christian Scott on trumpet, Debashish Chaudhury on tabla, Darryl Munyungo on percussion, Robert Irving on keyboards, Darryl Jones on bass, David Gilmore on guitar and Antoine Roney on saxophone.
