School of Seven Bells
Opening is NIGHTLANDS - their new album drops Jan 22, a side project from one of The War on Drugs (more info below)

Like many bands before them, School of Seven Bells (often stylized as SVIIB) were born as the result of a late-night revelation. Benjamin Curtis connected with identical twin sisters Alejandra and Claudia Deheza in 2004 while their bands Secret Machines and on!air!library!, respectively were on tour in support of Interpol. While watching PBS at 3am, Alejandra caught a show about the School of Seven Bells: a mythical South American pickpocket academy that may or may not have existed in the '80s. The idea of seven minds working as one appealed to her, as did the phrase's cryptic musicality, and a creative spark ignited.

The Brooklyn, NY- based band released their debut album Alpinisms in 2008 to critical acclaim. However, it was their second release Disconnect from Desire that created substantial buzz in the world of indie rock, putting them on the map as a band to be reckoned with. 2012's Ghostory is a thematic departure of sorts, while still retaining the layered guitar and synth underpinnings that were their bread and butter on earlier releases.

Since Keyboardist/backup vocalist Claudia Deheza quit the band in 2010, SVIIB's reformatted foursome now includes drummer Chris Colley, formerly of the New York indie quintet Soft, and backup singer/keyboardist Allie Alvarado, who had previously opened for SVIIB as the one-woman dance pop dynamo Painted Face.

Having crafted a signature sound that stems from a mix of electronic subgenres, shoegaze, and 80s pop, the members of School of Seven Bells live in an ethereal world of their own. But that doesn't mean you can't visit. At least for one night.

Nightlands - Dave Hartley, the man behind Nightlands and bassist for The War On Drugs, releases his sophomore album Oak Island. The record is a sci-fi exploration of love  a journey only available in an aural space. It is easy to fall in love with this album and after a listen or two, you'll find it increasingly hard to go. A certain curiosity grows into everlasting fascination.
