Sonoma Environmental Education Collaborative - Climate Change Education Workshop
Become empowered to mitigate climate change and communicate the latest localized climate change data in this interactive and intriguing professional development experience.

This two-day interactive workshop is designed for non-formal educators who work in parks, open spaces, public facilities, and community settings. Participants that work with all ages and all members of our region are welcome.

Day one, January 22nd is being held at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation and will focus on our own local Sonoma County goals for reducing greenhouse gases. You'll hear from regional and Bay area educators on how their programs are helping meet these goals through innovative initiatives in reducing water consumption, promoting sustainable agriculture, advocating for green transportation, and more!

Day two, February 5th is being held at Pepperwood Preserve, and will focus on understanding down-scaled, local climate science! You'll hear from researchers working right here in Sonoma County. We'll spend time on best practices in climate change communications and how you can adapt your message to different audiences. You'll also learn about the National Network for Climate Change Interpretation (NNOCCI)as well as the Bay Area Climate Literacy Impact Collaborative (Bay-Clic). You will build your professional connections with time for networking both days. Lunch is also included

Be prepared to be inspired and motivated!

This training is organized by the Sonoma Environmental Education Collaborative. It is funded through a grant from the Community Foundation Sonoma County.
