Grace Askew Live at Beausoleil

Grace Askews sound weaves through the backroads of the South and West right into the back alleys of New York and LA. Born in Memphis, she was raised on Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley; dug into her blues, soul, and folk roots in New Orleans; maintains inspiration from artists like Tom Waits, Mahalia Jackson, Sylvan Esso, and Cat Power; and now layers in the textures of synths, electric guitar, and vocal loops to create music that defies place or genre.

Spin calls her "astoundingly defiant." Rolling Stone calls her "sultry" while praising her "raw, real and righteous" songwriting.

With 6 studio albums and nearly a decade of touring under her belt, Grace has solidified herself as a relentlessly creative artist and a powerhouse of talent. She cut her first records at the legendary Ardent Studios & Sun Studios in Memphis, and has been a regular on the singer-songwriter circuit. She mostly hits the road accompanied only by her truck, Wanda, though she has also joined the likes of James McMurtry, Leon Russell, Marty Stuart, T-Model Ford, Jesse Winchester, Lisa Marie Presley, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Hayes Carll. She also featured on Season 4 of The Voice in 2013.
