Street Requiem
Street Requiem (2014) was composed in Melbourne, Australia, by Kathleen McGuire, Andy Payne and Jonathon Welch in order to impact homelessness through the arts.
The complete ten-movement work will be performed on Thursday,
November 2, 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Hearts Nims Center. The music will be interspersed with testimonials of those that have lifted themselves out of homelessness into a positive living experience.
"Symphony Chorus of New Orleans, along with the Delgado Chorus, will perform this concert in an effort to bring a sense of peace, remembrance and hope to those struggling to come to terms with poverty, mental illness, and violence on the streets of New Orleans," according to Music Director, Steven Edwards.
