THE STORY: A study of modern friendship when put to the test, the play centers on Jonathan and his wife, Jenifer, while they visit their oldest friend, Michael, at his home in Los Angeles. Jonathan, an actor, is in L.A. auditioning for a film called Brut Force 2 the sequel to Brute Force, which was his first big break and brush with stardom. Jonathan drags Jenifer with him for support. Jenifer is preoccupied by the illness of their daughter who was left at home in NYC with a babysitter. Michael is distracted, as his boyfriend has left him. At first the focus is on the universal questions we all face at one point or another, specifically self-doubt, and our selfish need for support. With the arrival of a guest, the play becomes deeper when we look at how ugly we can be when we look only at ourselves but instead remember to look at those around us- especially our loved ones.
