Patricia Barber

Songwriter/pianist/vocalist Patricia Barber's special way with a lyric, and impeccable keyboard skills, have won her a loyal following nationally and internationally. The word 'unique' doesn't seem to do her justice. Since her first steps as a performer in small clubs around her hometown of Chicago in the '80s, Barber has become renowned not only for her own exquisite compositions, but also for her ability to deconstruct and reconstruct familiar songs into completely renewed listening experiences. A standout among her contemporaries, Patricia's cool delivery and quiet audacity belies an intense, disciplined artistry honed by her passion for poetry and literature. The Chicago Tribune describes her aptly, the constantly evolving, always intimate art of Patricia Barber never ceases to surprise. Her latest recording is Monday Night Live at the Green Mill, Volume 3.
