Before dinner, enjoy a cider and mead flight sampling from Honest Abe Cider House and Meadery. Get to know LA's only cider house. They'll also have bottles on hand as your BYOB option for dinner, or to take home.
DJ Garfield Adams will keep the vibe chill and comfortable with rare grooves, jazz and world music.
Kaleo Sallas (www.artworkbykaleo.com) will have works of art on hand from his Positive Pop series.
Chef Efrain Cuevas is also an incredible potter. We will be serving from his collection, and he'll have items on hand, for purchase.
... and the space. The beautiful, meditative setting of Moonwater Farm. Kathleen Blakistone educates the local community in farming and sustainability. At the farm, you'll see the chickens that provide eggs for our meal and goats that provide milk for our fresh chevre. You'll SEE where our basil is sourced, and will enjoy the tranquility of the direct connection to the earth that Moonwater Farm offers.
About Moonwater Farm:
Moonwater Farm is an urban microfarm in Compton, CA, providing access for youth and residents of South Los Angeles to organic farming, livestock raising and healthy food preparation and preservation. We are interested in re-establishing connections to homesteading history and developing opportunities for learning, training and potentially employment in the food systems of Los Angeles. For more info, please visit: www.moonwaterfarm.net
Parking is tricky. The roads are shared with rancheros and horses, so the community offers limited street parking, so as to protect their four-legged residents. Ridesharing, Uber or Lyft is highly recommnended. We will also offer free shuttle service from a nearby parking lot to Moonwater Farm, both at the beginning and conclusion of our dinner.
