Joe Sanders' star has been on the rise for several years now. The bass virtuoso has already performed or recorded with a long line of incredible musicians: Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck, Wayne Shorter, Geri Allen, Kendrick Scott, Roy Hargrove, and the list continues to rapidly expand. Originally a student of classical music, Joe began studying jazz in his formative years with Christian McBride through the Dave Brubeck Institue. His musical reputation soon grew after he relocated to New York where his career blossomed. A regular member of pianist Gerald Clayton's trio, he performed on Clayton's album Two-Shade which was nominated for a Grammy in 2010. Now, with his own quartet of ace musicians, Joe is proving to be just as skilled as a bandleader as he is on the bass. Jazz Review.com says, Joe Sanders is a fluent and adept soloist, as well as an attentive and inventive accompanist.
